My journey into music writing began in 2017 when a childhood friend gave me the incredible opportunity to write the lyrics for his debut album, a dream we’d shared since our teenage years of starting a rock ‘n’ roll band. That experience reignited my teenage ambitions and marked the moment I picked up the pen and never looked back.

“But the seed was planted long before that!”

In the mid-90s, around ’95 or ’96, I was just a 5-year-old, wide-eyed, and unaware of how a single moment could alter the course of my life. My older brother, 13 years my senior, burst into the living room, gripping a cassette like it held the secrets of the universe. He jammed it into the stereo, and what followed felt like a seismic shift. The room pulsed with an energy I’d never experienced before. My brother, lost in the music, belted out lyrics with a wild passion, completely unlike the measured enjoyment I’d seen from anyone else around me. It wasn’t just music—it was a force. The raw, electrifying sound of Metallica’s Black Album filled the air, and in that moment, something inside me awakened.

That day, a connection to music was forged, one that has only deepened with time. As I grew older, music became not just a pastime but a vital part of my identity. I took up classical guitar, explored the depths of heavy metal, and eventually immersed myself in the gritty, rebellious world of rock ‘n’ roll. Music, in all its forms, has been a driving force in shaping who I am today.

Black Psychedelic Sun is my way of paying homage to the music that has shaped my life. For those who share my passion for soul-stirring sounds or those just looking to dive into something new, this platform is where we explore, celebrate, and honor the transformative power of music.
